Overview

The Payment Settings section allows you to configure the payment system used for paid event registrations in Event Builder. From this section, you can select your preferred currency, customize how prices are displayed, configure currency conversion rates, and connect supported payment gateways such as Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, or Manual Payment.

These settings apply globally to all paid events unless overridden by custom payment logic.


Currency Settings

Overview

The Currency Settings allow you to define the default currency used throughout Event Builder. All ticket prices, booking totals, invoices, payment summaries, and checkout pages will use these settings.


Dashboard Currency

Choose the default currency for your event website.

Available Currencies

  • US Dollar (USD – $)
  • Euro (EUR – €)
  • British Pound (GBP – £)
  • Indian Rupee (INR – ₹)
  • Australian Dollar (AUD – A$)
  • Canadian Dollar (CAD – C$)

Default: US Dollar (USD)

This currency is used for:

  • Event Ticket Prices
  • Booking Summary
  • Checkout Page
  • Payment Processing
  • Booking Dashboard
  • Customer Receipts

Currency Position

Choose where the currency symbol appears.

Select the format that matches your local currency standards.


Currency Conversion Rates

Event Builder allows you to define manual exchange rates for supported currencies.

These rates are used whenever currency conversion is required within the plugin.

USD → INR Rate

Specify the exchange rate from US Dollar to Indian Rupee.

Default: 85


USD → EUR Rate

Specify the exchange rate from US Dollar to Euro.

Default: 0.92


USD → GBP Rate

Specify the exchange rate from US Dollar to British Pound.

Default: 0.79


USD → AUD Rate

Specify the exchange rate from US Dollar to Australian Dollar.

Default: 1.52


USD → CAD Rate

Specify the exchange rate from US Dollar to Canadian Dollar.

Default: 1.36

Note

Update these values periodically to reflect current exchange rates.


Payment Gateways

Overview

Event Builder supports multiple payment gateways, allowing you to securely collect payments for paid events.

Supported gateways include:

  • Stripe
  • PayPal
  • Razorpay
  • Manual Payment

You can enable one or multiple payment methods based on your business requirements.


Stripe Payment Gateway

Enable Stripe

Enable or disable Stripe as a payment method.

Options

  • Enable
  • Disable

Default: Enabled

Once enabled, customers can securely pay using credit cards and supported Stripe payment methods.


Stripe Publishable Key

Enter your Stripe Publishable Key.

This key is used on the frontend to securely initialize Stripe Checkout.

You can obtain this key from your Stripe Dashboard.


Stripe Secret Key

Enter your Stripe Secret Key.

This key is used by the server to securely process payments.

Important

Never share your Secret Key publicly.


Stripe Webhook Secret

Enter your Stripe Webhook Secret.

Webhooks allow Event Builder to automatically receive payment updates from Stripe.

This enables features such as:

  • Automatic Payment Confirmation
  • Booking Status Updates
  • Refund Notifications
  • Failed Payment Detection

PayPal Payment Gateway

Enable PayPal

Enable or disable PayPal payments.

Options

  • Enable
  • Disable

Default: Disabled

Customers can pay using their PayPal account or supported payment methods.


PayPal Client ID

Enter your PayPal Client ID obtained from the PayPal Developer Dashboard.

This key identifies your application during payment requests.


PayPal Secret Key

Enter your PayPal Secret Key.

This key authenticates secure communication between your website and PayPal.

Keep this value private at all times.


PayPal Webhook ID

Enter the Webhook ID generated from your PayPal Developer Dashboard.

Webhooks allow Event Builder to automatically receive:

  • Payment Confirmations
  • Refund Notifications
  • Payment Failures
  • Subscription Updates (if applicable)

PayPal Sandbox Mode

Enable Sandbox Mode for testing.

Options

  • Enable
  • Disable

Default: Enabled

Sandbox mode allows you to:

  • Test payments
  • Verify booking workflows
  • Confirm payment notifications

without processing real transactions.

Disable Sandbox Mode when your website is ready to accept live payments.


Razorpay Payment Gateway

Enable Razorpay

Enable or disable Razorpay as a payment gateway.

Options

  • Enable
  • Disable

Default: Disabled

Razorpay is recommended for businesses accepting payments primarily within India.


Razorpay Key ID

Enter your Razorpay Key ID.

This public key connects your website with your Razorpay account.


Razorpay Key Secret

Enter your Razorpay Secret Key.

This private key securely authorizes payment requests.

Keep this key confidential.


Razorpay Webhook Secret

Enter your Razorpay Webhook Secret.

Webhooks allow Event Builder to receive automatic notifications such as:

  • Successful Payments
  • Failed Transactions
  • Refund Updates
  • Booking Status Changes

Manual Payment

Enable Manual Payment

Allow customers to complete bookings using offline payment methods.

Options

  • Enable
  • Disable

Default: Disabled

Manual payment is ideal for accepting:

  • Bank Transfers
  • Cash Payments
  • Cheques
  • Offline Invoices
  • Direct Deposits

Bookings can be manually approved once payment has been verified by the administrator.


Notes

  • These settings apply globally to all paid events.
  • Payment gateway credentials are required before online payments can be processed.
  • Secret Keys and Webhook Secrets should never be shared publicly.
  • Currency settings affect ticket prices, booking summaries, invoices, and payment receipts.
  • Manual Payment bookings require administrator verification unless integrated with a custom approval workflow.
  • Changes take effect immediately after saving the settings.
