Installation

Installing Event Builder is quick and only takes a few minutes. Once activated, you can immediately start creating events, configuring booking settings, and displaying event calendars using shortcodes or Elementor widgets.

Prerequisites

Before installing Event Builder, make sure your website meets the following minimum requirements:

• WordPress 6.0 or later
• PHP 7.4 or higher
• MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+
• Elementor (Required for Elementor widgets)
• HTTPS enabled (Recommended for booking and payment security)

Note;

Event Builder works perfectly without Elementor for shortcode-based event displays. However, Elementor is required if you want to use the included Event Builder widgets.

Method 1: Install from WordPress Dashboard (Recommended)

The easiest way to install Event Builder is directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Step 1

Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.

Step 2

Navigate to:

Plugins → Add New

Step 3

Click Upload Plugin.

Step 4

Choose the event-builder.zip file downloaded from your account.

Step 5

Click Install Now.

Step 6

Once installation is complete, click Activate Plugin.

The Event Builder menu will now appear in your WordPress Dashboard.

Method 2: Install via FTP

You can also install the plugin manually using FTP or your hosting File Manager.

Step 1

Extract the downloaded ZIP package.

Step 2

Upload the event-builder folder to:

/wp-content/plugins/

Step 3

Go to your WordPress Dashboard.

Navigate to:

Plugins → Installed Plugins

Step 4

Locate Event Builder.

Step 5

Click Activate.

The plugin is now ready to use.

Verify Installation

After activating the plugin, verify that everything has been installed correctly.

You should see the following in your WordPress Dashboard:

• Event Builder menu
• Events
• Bookings
• Attendees
• Organizers
• Locations
• Categories
• Labels
• Settings

If these menus are visible, the plugin has been installed successfully.

Create Your First Event

After installation, you can create your first event.

Navigate to:

Event Builder → Events → Add New

Fill in the event information:

• Event Title
• Description
• Featured Image
• Event Date
• Event Time
• Event Location
• Organizer
• Ticket Price
• Event Capacity
• Booking Settings

Publish the event when finished.

Display Events on Your Website

Once your event is published, you can display it anywhere using either shortcodes or Elementor widgets.

Using Shortcodes

Some commonly used shortcodes include:

Full Event Calendar

Display the complete interactive event calendar.

Grid Layout

Display events in a responsive grid layout.

List Layout

Using Elementor

If Elementor is installed:

1. Create or edit a page.
2. Click Edit with Elementor.
3. Search for Event Builder widgets.
4. Drag any widget onto the page.
5. Customize the widget settings.
6. Publish or update the page.

Plugin Updates

Keeping Event Builder updated ensures compatibility, security, and access to the latest features.

To update the plugin:

1. Navigate to Dashboard → Updates.
2. If an update is available, select Event Builder.
3. Click Update Plugins.

Always back up your website before performing updates.

Troubleshooting

Plugin does not activate

• Verify your server meets the minimum PHP and WordPress requirements.
• Disable conflicting plugins and try again.
• Check your PHP error logs for additional information.

Elementor widgets are not visible

• Ensure Elementor is installed and activated.
• Update both Elementor and Event Builder.
• Clear your website cache.
• Regenerate Elementor CSS from:

Elementor → Tools

Events are not displaying

• Verify that your events are published.
• Confirm the correct shortcode is being used.
• Check event dates and visibility settings.
• Clear your caching plugin if enabled.

Booking form is not working

• Make sure booking is enabled for the event.
• Verify ticket availability.
• Check event capacity settings.
• Ensure JavaScript is loading correctly.
• Disable conflicting plugins for testing.
